Each piece of pottery is handmade by Heidi and her brother, in her home studio, in Plainwell, MI. Every design begins with a sketch of an idea. From these sketches, a prototype is constructed from clay or 3D printed material. Once a prototype is refined it becomes a custom plaster mold. Each piece is hand-cleaned and stamped with the Bella Joy Pottery logo before the first firing (bisque firing). Then it is time to add color to the pieces with glazes that are made in-house by either Heidi or her dad. The piece then comes out of the kiln for a final cleaning before it makes its way to your home.
