Love is in the Air

Love is in the Air

I wanted to make a collection for Valentine’s Day this year, but I am not super into cliche Valentine’s day items. Typing that is odd, because I do think little hearts are cute and am definitely a big fan of the color red. I mean more that I am not into stuffed animals, balloons, or red roses. I do like all three of those things separately and at different times of the year, but for me, those items don’t bring me a lot of joy or make me think of love.

As you may or may not know, I live in SW Michigan and if all goes well we have the potential to get A LOT of snow in the winter. One, because I live in a northern climate, but also we get a lot of lake effect snow from the great lake of Lake Michigan. I love winter. I love snow. I love staying home. I like the quietness and the darkness. It is peaceful and great time of year to slow down and make art.

But my favorite part of winter is when Joe (my spouse) and I sit on the couch at night and watch TV. It’s not the watching TV that I care about, but while we watch TV, Joe will reach over and hold my hand. It’s a very simple gesture, but it’s my favorite part of staying home during the winter. Just holding hands and watching TV.

These new mugs try to capture all those feelings. The love of snow.

The darkness of winter.

The joy of holding hands while watching TV.

These mugs are adorable! Loved this blog, too. Glad you can embrace winter (snow is magical) and that you appreciate the sweet gestures of marriage!
