All Those Magical Speckles

Aren’t those speckles on these bud vases amazing?

You know what I love most about the Brighter Days collection? How forgiving it is! Flaws with this beautiful clay make it even more beautiful!

I worked with porcelain almost exclusively for twenty years and porcelain is beautiful, but sassy.

I remember asking @jhpotteryworks about how to trim stoneware, because it had been so long I really didn’t know how! I was telling him how easy stoneware was to work with! Josh said that’s why beginners use it.

I had made up so many rules in my head about what I could and couldn’t do when it came to pottery. It was silly and kind of sad, but I am grateful for the opportunity to be a beginner again.

In a strange way I became more forgiving with myself and others because I started working with such a forgiving clay.

So I guess something good did come from the past two years! What about you? I know the past two years have been incredibly difficult, any silver linings?
